PIM Canada
PIM Group started in the state of Washington, close to the Canadian border. Over the years we made positive connections in British Columbia, and in 2019 we decided to formalize our operations by establishing a sister firm, PIM Consulting Canada. We’ve begun working with a range of Canadian nonprofit organizations on the front lines of environmental, housing and human service issues.
PIM offers a value proposition in Canada: We bring a track record of over 25 years in crafting growth strategies, engineering turnarounds and building financially sustainable nonprofits. Our methods draw on hands-on leadership experience, best practices in the sector and field-tested consulting work. With a base in Victoria, PIM has staff in Vancouver and we’re building relationships with consulting and training partners. Our goal is to complement, partner with and build capacity of local consultants, business and organizations. Most importantly, we look forward to offering services that can help Canadian organizations thrive.
Why Canada?
We held many conversations and studied the market to inform our decision. People we met told us that our focus — financial sustainability — is a big need in the sector. The data told us that our services could fill a gap in the market.
But the big reasons PIM decided to serve Canadian organizations is the vibrancy of community-based nonprofits and the importance of the challenges they’re addressing. We see communities working together to address urgent emerging problems like the affordable housing gap, a substance abuse crisis and climate change. Canada has a culture of cooperative action, and that spirit drives success in finding solutions. Ultimately that’s why we do this work.
